Collingwood

Transforming this former factory floor into a sweeping split level furniture gallery, CoLAB created a distinctly 'Melbourne-centric' setting for this unique European furniture importer, in the heart of Collingwood.  Working within the raw envelope of this heritage building, the interior is defined by swathes of linen curtaining, louvred ceiling panels and milky wall cladding.  The soffit of a carpark ramp was reclaimed to create a raised entertaining area, offering an aerial view over the entire furniture collection.  Soaped oak bleachers bridge between the high and low level spaces, creating perfect tiered auditorium seating for functions and and effective merchandising platforms for Own Worlds beautiful seating collection.
